Nu/Hart Hair Clinics, a world leader in hair restoration has announced that Dr. Glen Ross, hair transplant physician in Nu/Hart’s New York City clinic, has successfully passed both the oral and written components of the American Board Of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS) Examination, 2009.
Nu/Hart Hair Clinics conducts its own rigorous training program and physician meetings but encourages physicians to participate in the International Society of Hair Restoration and take the ABHRS examine.
Nu/Hart President, Kathy Smith explains, “It doesn’t matter how many years we have done this or how many hair transplant sessions we’ve performed; we need to remain students of this industry, and internal programs at Nu/Hart along with the ISHRS and ABHRS help us stay on top of this business.”
Dr. Ross, a board certified physician and hair transplant expert who has performed over a thousand hair restoration procedures on both men and women, began his work with Nu/Hart Hair Clinics in September of 2006.
He began his education at Union College in Schenectady, NY, and later received his degree in medicine from State University of New York. In 1987, Dr. Ross began his post-graduate work at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center in Bronx, NY. Prior to coming to Nu/Hart, he served as Director of Emergency Medicine at both Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center in Bronx, NY, and New York United Hospital in Port Chester, NY.
Dr. Ross now specializes in performing mega hair transplant sessions exceeding up to 3,000 grafts which produce great results, reducing the need for multiple sessions.
Several other Nu/Hart physicians have passed the AMHRS examination in earlier years and are currently diplomats of the ABHRS: Dr Horace MacVaugh, Dr Peter Dickinson, Dr Mark Boles, and Dr Riad Roomi.
The American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery/International Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS/IBHRS) is the largest worldwide entity to have established standards for certification for education, training and experience in Hair Restoration Surgery. Physicians who are eligible to apply for ABHRS/IBHRS certification have demonstrated the accumulation of significant experience in the field of Hair Restoration Surgery and have all shown a commitment to high standards of training and education. Those who have achieved certification have demonstrated advanced knowledge in the art and science of hair restoration through peer-reviewed examination. While there is currently no ABMS certification specific to hair restoration, the ABHRS/IBHRS is the only certification recognized by the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, the largest hair restoration educational organization in the world.
“Our goal is worldwide excellence in the industry, and you need a team of top medical experts to do this,” says Smith. “Congratulations to Dr Ross, he is one of the leading physicians in hair transplantation.”
Nu/Hart’s Manhattan clinic is conveniently located at 240 Central Park South, Suite 1P.
The first step for someone interested in undergoing hair transplantation is to have a complimentary consultation at the Central Park South office. The Nu/Hart physician will determine the number of grafts required. Each graft typically contains 1 to 3 hair follicles.
