The mullet first appeared in the media in the 1960s and 1970s with the help of rock stars such as Davis Bowie and former Beatles member Paul McCartney. It didn’t become widely known until the 1980s and the success of the Band U2. U2 singer Bono rocked a mullet during the Live Aid performance that has been widely credited for influencing the mullet style. The mullet style is where the hair is cut short in the front and let long in the back. The style continues to appear in today’s society, however, it has lost most of its popularity.
